Newland Homes has returned to the sought-after village of Twyning with the launch of Leasow Reach, a collection of 47 zero carbon homes and bungalows, showcasing how far energy efficient home design has progressed in just a few years.
Leasow Reach follows Newland Homes’ nearby Twyning Green development, completed in 2019, where 22 low carbon homes were built with air source heat pumps instead of gas boilers.

Leasow Reach represents the next step forward in sustainable housing, with every new home now combining air source heat pumps with solar PV, along with insulation levels close to Passivhaus standards, to deliver fossil-fuel-free living with significantly reduced operational costs and carbon emissions.
According to the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero, UK domestic buildings account for around 20% of the UK’s greenhouse gas emissions, with home heating a major contributor. Against this backdrop, the energy efficiency of new homes has become increasingly important in recent years, as households contend with rising energy costs and growing awareness of climate change.
The new homes at Leasow Reach achieve the top EPC ‘A’ rating for both energy efficiency and environmental impact, with some homes even achieving scores over the top rating. In practical terms, this means lower day-to-day running costs and a significantly reduced carbon footprint.
While national regulations are moving towards higher sustainability standards, Newland Homes’ approach at Leasow Reach reflects a company objective that has been in place for several years.
The business has chosen to lead from the front, continually refining its home designs and specifications to go beyond minimum requirements. All homes also benefit from EV charging points, reflecting the growing shift towards electric vehicles and helping residents to future-proof their lifestyles.
The new three and four-bedroom homes, including bungalows, use materials and architectural details that reflect the local character in the picture-postcard village of Twyning. Twyning is a relatively undiscovered yet centrally located village on the banks of the River Avon, with a popular primary school, post office, local farm shop and great pub.
Marcus Evans, sales & marketing director for Newland Homes, said: “Twyning is one of those villages that everyone quickly falls in love with, but it’s not on people’s radar, despite its easy connectivity to the M50 and M5 giving quick access to towns like Tewkesbury, Cheltenham and Worcester.
“Returning with Leasow Reach feels particularly meaningful as it allows us to demonstrate advancements in home design. These are zero carbon homes that raise the bar on energy efficiency, while remaining rooted in the local character that makes this area so sought after.”
Alongside energy performance, Leasow Reach has been designed with nature in mind. The development includes new wildflower meadows with bee-friendly planting, supporting pollinators and local biodiversity. Informed by the principles championed by the Royal Horticultural Society, these green spaces will provide seasonal colour and safe habitats, while creating a softer, more natural landscape for residents to enjoy.
